Alicia D. Johnson is the CWEL Academic Coordinator and Clinical Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work. Alicia obtained her PhD in Instructional Management and Leadership from Robert Morris University. She has an MSW and Home and School Visitor Certification from the University of Pittsburgh. She also has a B.S. in Psychology from Jackson State University. Her research interests are mainly in the areas of child and family advocacy, educator mindset and trauma informed practices in the school setting. Alicia has also served as adjunct faculty on the graduate level in the School of Social Work. Alicia began her professional career in social work as a school social worker in 2003 before becoming Director of Student Support Services and then transitioning to higher education. Her research interests include school social work, all areas of student support, and trauma and mindset (particularly the mindset of educators).
