Dr. Daniela I. Brissett is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and an attending physician at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. A physician-scientist and community-engaged researcher, her work centers on advancing health equity through participatory research with youth, particularly Black girls. She is the Principal Investigator of studies exploring adultification bias and its impact on adolescent health, blending multimodal qualitative methods with innovative dissemination tools such as murals and mobile exhibits. Dr. Brissett’s scholarship has been recognized with awards from the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine, Pediatric Academic Societies, and CHOP. A graduate of UC Berkeley and UCSF School of Medicine, she trained in Pediatrics at UCSF and completed an Adolescent Medicine fellowship at CHOP. She is pursuing a PhD in Clinical and Translational Science at the University of Pittsburgh
