Personal Biography
Working at the intersection of art history and memory studies, I have spent most of my career researching and writing about public monuments. I am interested in the stories they tell about race, power, belonging. I am also committed to repairing the monumental landscape we have inherited -- making it more just and honest; I have a broad interest in the theme of reparation. I work in the community and with the innovative organization Monument Lab, for which I serve on the Board of Directors.
