Monica Henderson Presents at Panel Discussion about Black Hair

Monica Henderson, Program and Outreach Coordinator for the Race and Youth Development Research Group (RaYDR) at CRSP, recently participated in a panel discussion with YWCA Greater Pittsburgh titled "Hairstories of Black Women".

In recognition of Black History Month, the panelists discussed past and present cultural attitudes about hairstyles for Black women while discussing a future where prejudice, discrimination, and internalized oppression are replaced with freedom, empowerment, and self-appreciation. Watch the event recording here
