Sebastian Lacy is the Vice President of Equity & Culture and Human Resources at YWCA Greater Pittsburgh, where he advances the organization’s leadership, strategic vision, and DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) initiatives. He oversees daily operations, programming, and policy enhancements to foster a culture of inclusion and belonging. Under his leadership, YWCA GP has received multiple accolades, including the 2022 Standing Firm Employer of the Year and Vibrant Pittsburgh’s 4.0 and 5.0 Index Champion awards. His efforts drive impactful programs like the Center for Race & Gender Equity, the 21-Day Racial and Social Justice Challenge, and key advocacy campaigns on pay equity and workplace accessibility.
Beyond YWCA GP, Sebastian has made significant contributions to diversity and inclusion at Carnegie Mellon University and across Pittsburgh. He has led initiatives such as CMU’s All-Gender Inclusive Restrooms Campus Initiative and co-authored the Mellon College of Science’s 5-Year DEI Strategic Plan. Actively engaged in the broader community, he serves on the Pittsburgh Human Resources Association Board, chairs the Voting Is Power (VIP) Pittsburgh Regional Coalition, and was honored as PHRA’s 2024 Leader of the Year. Recognized for his leadership, he was named a 2024 Men of Excellence honoree by the New Pittsburgh Courier and selected for Leadership Pittsburgh’s Class XLI. Through his advocacy and innovative HR strategies, Sebastian continues to drive systemic change and champion equity in professional and community spaces.
