Taylor Reed

Personal Biography

My research examines the collateral consequences of incarceration for Black young adults, focusing on how policies shape their re-entry experiences from a life-course perspective. I explore the socioeconomic environments in which these individuals were raised, using both quantitative and qualitative methods to address diverse questions. My goal is to help policymakers, researchers, and stakeholders understand how the carceral system deeply impacts Black lives. I aim to identify vulnerable areas for intervention to reduce recidivism and incarceration rates. Ultimately, I seek to design and scale effective policies that equip Black young adults and their communities with the tools to overcome re-entry challenges.
