Audre Lorde

Audre Lorde described herself as a "Black, lesbian, mother, warrior, poet" who "dedicated both her life and her creative talent to confronting and addressing injustices of racism, sexism, classism, and homophobia." She made various contributions to feminist theory, critical race studies, and queer theory in addition to being a central part of many liberation movements and activist circles, such as second-wave feminism, civil rights and Black cultural movements, and struggles for LGBTQ+ equality.
