Coretta Scott King

Coretta Scott King was an America author, activist, and civil rights leader who was the wife of Martin Luther King Jr. She worked with various religious, labor, business, civil, and womens' rights organizations. In 1983, she brought together more than 800 human rights organizations to form the Coalition of Conscience. Throughout her work and life, Mrs. King promoted nonviolence and the dream of the Beloved Community. Her commitment, determination, hope, faith, and compassion placed her at the center of leadership for peace, love, and social change.
